Can you guarantee a piece of jewelry for life?
Share
Contrary to what some professionals claim, gold cannot be guaranteed for life; in fact, its durability depends on its maintenance, its use and normal wear and tear.
✅ What the warranty can cover:
Manufacturing defects: for example, loose solder, poorly secured clasp, poor crimping.
Alloy issues: Sometimes, some jewelry stores guarantee that the gold used is of the indicated karat (14k, 18k, etc.).
Replacement or repair of the jewel: if a defect is recognized as being original and not due to normal wear and tear.
❌ What the warranty never covers:
Normal wear and tear: scratches, tarnishing of alloys, loss of shine over time.
Accidental damage: fall, shock, crushing, contact with chemicals (chlorine, perfume, household products).
Modification or misuse: for example, poorly fitted jewelry, worn during physical activities or DIY.
